Osagie
Major: Neuroscience
Minor: Data Science, Chemistry
Osagie is a junior at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has a strong passion for teaching. He has served as a learning assistant in both the Computer Science and Psychology and Neuroscience Departments at the University, beginning in his freshman year. Osagie spent this past summer in Los Angeles, conducting spatial transcriptomics research at the Ahmanson-Lovelace Brain Mapping Center. While in High School, Osagie captained the Varsity Track and Field team, served as the president of his school’s National Honors Society, and earned the Hall of Fame award, given to one senior each year. His favorite UNC memory so far is performing with his a cappella group at Sunset Serenade at the beginning of the year!
Claire
Major: Chemistry, Pre-Medical track
Minor: Biology
Claire is currently a senior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill studying chemistry on the pre-medical track. After spending her summer applying to medical school, she is hoping to matriculate as a medical student after graduation and pursue her goal of becoming a medical oncologist. Claire has spent much of her undergraduate career serving as a volunteer STEM tutor for local high school students, working as an MCAT tutor on UNC’s campus, and mentoring her classmates in several upper-level chemistry courses. Outside of school, she has enjoyed working as a medical scribe in the emergency department and conducting research in an oncology lab at UNC School of Medicine. In high school, Claire was a member of the varsity cross country, track, and lacrosse teams and was awarded Academic-All American honors. She is an enthusiastic basketball fan and is excited for UNC’s upcoming season!
Meitra
Major: Neuroscience
Minor: Chemistry, Data Science
As a Neuroscience major at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Meitra shares her passion for learning by tutoring Mathematics, Sciences, and English. On campus, she has enjoyed working as an associate editor for the Carolina Scientific Magazine, playing the flute in the symphony orchestra, and working as an undergraduate research assistant. While in high school, Meitra played on the varsity basketball and tennis teams, was the flute section leader for marching and concert band, and volunteered at a local hospital. Her favorite UNC memory so far is rushing Franklin Street after beating Duke in the Final Four!
